LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course

Cross Country Town USA Race Management
The Nike Valley Twilight is a high school cross country race run under the lights at the famous LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Indiana. This new and unique competition is aimed to bring together the best high school cross country teams in the Midwest. Athletes of all levels within your program will have a chance to compete. Music, fun and fireworks will conclude the evening’s festivities.
**Meet management will be applying for NFHS sanction.**
What High Schools can attend? Per the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) By-Laws, Rule 10 (page 41 of the IHSAA By-Laws), any high school that will not exceed 600 miles round trip from the Indiana state line are eligible to compete.

Entry Fees: $100 per school per gender up to 30 athletes, $1 per athlete after 30 athletes.
$15 per Individuals. Checks should be made out and mailed to: Terre Haute South High School.

Entry Process: Schools will need to use www.athletic.net for entry into the meet. Portal will open by

Apparel: NIKE event branding shirts will be available for purchase.
Races:
Freshman/Sophomore Race – A team scored race in which schools may run an unlimited amount of Fr/So athletes.
Open Race – A team scored race in which schools may run an unlimited amount of athletes grades 9th – 12th.
Championship Race – Meet management will select the schools that will compete in this race. Schools selected for the race will be allowed to run 7 athletes. These athletes may be of any grade (9th – 12th). Schools that wish to have an individual(s) compete in this race must contact meet management.
Awards: Freshman/Sophomore Race – Team Champion & Top 3 Individuals
Open Race – 1st, 2nd place teams & Top 5 Individuals
Championship Race – 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place teams & Top 10 Individuals
